The Shippon sun-room is a lovely way to maximise the connection between the practical indoor spaces
and the patio area that is exclusively for use by our Shippon guests.
The Shippon is a 2 storey property with a private entrance. It is one of 5 cottages on our site and is attached to the Linhay.
You access the cottage via a small porch. The living room has enough comfortable sofa space for the whole group to sit together and chat or watch some TV. There is a well-equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob. The cupboards have crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans. Everything you need for a family meal or perhaps a bit of baking for a special occasion. There is a dishwasher to save you time and a washer/dryer solely for use by guests in the Shippon.
There is a bright sunroom with additional seating and the sliding doors allow you to access a raised patio area. There is seating available if the weather is fine and you would like to bbq or perhaps sit with a glass of wine.
At the back of the property there is a dining room with table and chairs for 7 and a high chair can be requested if required. This leads into the family snug area with a large corner sofa and TV screen for watching DVDs (this TV has no aerial signal so is only suitable for DVDs). There is also a useful cloakroom with toilet and sink.
The final space downstairs is the twin bedroom with ensuite. Unusually this ensuite is a complete bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with shower over.
Upstairs there is a bright double bedroom, a triple bedroom and the family bathroom (toilet, sink and bath with shower over).
Linen for double and single beds is included and beds will be freshly made up for your arrival. Towels are not included but during the booking process you can opt to hire them from us for an additional fee.
Guests booking the Shippon can park 2 cars for free in reserved parking spaces next to the cottage.
In addition to private use of the Shippon guests also have shared access to a number of facilities on site:
- Free high speed wi-fi (Starlink)
- Heated outdoor swimming pool: this is available for guests to use from the May half-term until early September.
- Games room with table football and table tennis
- Gardens - all guests have shared access to the approximately 2 acres of gardens surrounding the cottages. There are picnic benches and garden chairs available so guests can eat or relax around the site.
- Animal feeding sessions
- A starter pack of x2 tea-towels, oven gloves, x2 bin bags, a kitchen roll, washing up liquid, washing up sponge, x6 toilet rolls, cleaning products for kitchen and bathroom, hand soap
Changeover days are normally flexible except in some peak weeks when Friday is the standard changeover day. If this doesn't fit with your plans please feel free to contact us and we will see if we can assist with an alternate arrangement.

We are not able to accept dogs in the Shippon. If you would like to bring your pet on holiday with you then the Threshing Barn could be the perfect option as this is our only dog-friendly cottage.
